Lice, y'all.
When I was young, I never got lice. I bought into all the "lice is for dirty people" whispers I heard around school when OMG, someone got lice. You would've thought the lice were dipped in mercury for the fuss we made over them. And I'm not going to lie, treating for lice is no fun to-the-ten-stuffed-animals-in-garbage-bags-and-ten-loads-of-laundry-a-day, but lice are not the life-ender I thought they were.
I won't tell you how I know. Ahem.
Suffice it to say that everyone in my household is meticulous in his or her grooming. We may not always be polished, but we are always CLEAN, like shower-at-least-once-a-day clean. So when the little buggers made their way into our house not once but twice over the last several years, I started getting veeerrrry interested in prevention.
The folks at Babo Botanicals generously sent me samples of their Rosemary Tea Tree Lice Repel Shampoo and Lice Repel Conditioning Spray.
I love the smell of everything lice hate, like rosemary and tea tree, among other things. My daughter does not. However, we don't care what she thinks, because LICE. What I like about the Rosemary Tea Tree Lice Repel Shampoo is that it sudses better than other shampoos I've used and it comes in a bigger bottle. If you have a person with long hair you're trying to protect, you need a LOT of shampoo.
I love the spray. It's easy to pop on right before one heads out into potentially lice-infested areas (I won't begin to list where I fear lice because you'll never leave your house again). The only drawback to the spray my daughter wanted me to point out: it's a little hard to push down if you have children hands. I had no problem with it, but I am so strong I can crush rocks, so I would never have known this if she hadn't pointed it out.
One month into the cesspool that is elementary school, and so far, so good. If this stuff gets us through the dreaded month of September, I will do the dance of joy.
