This month, I wrote only for BlogHer. Well, and I worked on my novel. Please to read my ranting.
In which I think about parenting:
- The 2000s: The Decade of Attachment Parenting, Hipster Parenting, Celebrity Babies and Free-Range Kids -- Remember when you were a terrible parent if you didn't give your kid a liberal daily dose of Baby Einstein? ha ha ha
- Extreme Anxiety and New Motherhood: The Perfect Storm -- After writing about the 2000s and their parenting trends, I realized there probably couldn't have been a worst time in history for me to give birth, given my personality.
- I'm Tired of Parenting. So There. -- I have a wee bit of cabin fever.
In which I think about current events:
- Terror Fatigue: How Do You Keep From Teaching Your Kids to Hate? -- I'm serious.
- Whites to Be Minority in 40 Years: Why Are Schools Not More Diverse? -- We need to start with neighborhood schools in kindergarten if we want to change America.
- He Sees You When You're Sleeping: The Elf on the Shelf vs. Jesus -- Who do you want watching your children?
- Blond Bites Dog: The Truth About Dr. Aaron Sell's Research, Warlike Women and Newsroom Vetting -- So a researcher got misquoted in a Times interview and newspapers around the world picked it up and ran it without checking it out at all. What did he say? Blonds are more warlike.
- Researcher Says Women Have 30 Hours of Leisure Time a Week -- And I might agree.
