I think you'll all recall my undying adoration of Heather B. Armstrong. You probably have all read it already on her blog, but I just realized that you can pre-order her new fatherhood anthology on Amazon now.
I've had the honor of working with three of the contributors to her anthology that she mentioned by name (Finslippy, Fussy and Laid-Off Dad) for my upcoming book, Sleep Is for the Weak: True Tales to Get You Through Parenthood (September 2008, Chicago Review Press). I say that not to be like the girl in that skit on Saturday Night Live (you have a dog? I have a dog with two heads), but because I'm such a fangirl of my contributors that I will literally read anything they write and still can't believe they actually worked with me.
And you know what? It's okay to be a fangirl of your fellow bloggers! I've put in my preorder for Heather's book and am now trying not to hover around my mailbox, salivating. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I'm also going to be reviewing a book soon from Rebecca by Girls Gone Child. More! More!
Let there be more relevant books written by real people we adore! I am tired of reading parenting books by celebrities who have resources and opportunities I don't have! We must create demand!
Get on over there and reserve yourself a copy, yo. Seriously. Support your bloggas. If you're a blogger and have written a book, I'd love to review it. Drop me a line.
