The Best Little Mommyblogging Anthology Ever

Okay, so this writing project I've been so cryptic about over the past few months is coming to fruition. (If you read a few months ago, I had this amazing disappearing post that only showed up in blog readers because Typepad did not want it to be.)  I found a publisher.  It's an anthology of great mommyblogging, grouped by subject and perfect for anyone who does not have time to sort through the archives of the women (and one man) below to find the absolute gems of each. We're shooting for fall '08 for the release.  I'd like to write a lot more about this experience, which I've said almost nothing about publicly, even though I've been working on this project for more than two years.   I want to tell you about how I felt during the process. I want to tell you what I learned. I want to tell you how kind and how horrible people can be.  I just don't have time to do that today.  And I'd also like to have the contract in my hands, because I'm still terrified despite two conversations yesterday with the publisher that this is all really just a dream from which I will wake up imminently.

You will all be excited to buy this book, because here is the contributor line-up. The spacing is all messed up, and I, alas, do not have time to fix it.

Have I mentioned that I am Dorothy's ma? My head is swollen and I am all puffed up with pride that Dorothy's book will be published. I have watched her work hard for these past two years. She deserves to be proud. You go daughter! Hold your head up high! Your Gran in Heaven will be smiling down at you. She was goal oriented just like you. Yes, you inherited those achiever genes. Do the dance, sing the song, lay it all on!

As a friend, I cannot even begin to express how excited I am for you that you met your goal! So many folks dream and do nothing. You dreamed and persisted.

As a contributor, I am very honored that I was included in such a fabulous group of writers. Thank you.

But, I'm happy for you and for the other writers! So very happy.

Ma: Congratulations, you raised two amazing women.

Rita: You had me from the first gorgeous binder you showed me on this project, rock star. Thank you for the leadership and the opportunity and for kicking my tail in the nicest possible way when I was buried in a pile of email and losing site of all the fun I could be having. Like this book: Having read some of the posts I can confirm, this book is good (and occasionally fabulously unclean) fun.
